the king is resting

Today we are enjoying sunnier weather, so far, while Sawyer continues to heal after his Esophageal Atresia repair. He is doing great, considering. His heart rate currently reads 118 while the sedatives and paralytics do their magic. I can't bring myself to take a picture of him, even though he looks so peaceful. I don't know that I necessarily want to be reminded of this particular time in the journey. After today, the nurses will begin to ween him and slowly let him wake up on his own. I can't wait to see him smile. I haven't seen it since Sunday. I'm feeling really grateful right now for everyone's love, support, and prayers. My bosom burns with joy. Or maybe I just need to pump. Either way, we are so blessed. I love sunny weather and most of all, air conditioning.
